Great view of the Potomac River and perfect place to put in a kayak/canoe. Fantastic bass fishing, free camp sites that are well maintained. Potable water as well as porta-potties are within walking distance. First come first serve so can be frustrating when you get there and it's full but rarely an issue. Look on Mddnr.gov for more info.
As I relaxed in my tent, the sun had already set, and the humidity began to give way to a cool breeze that brushed the tent's nylon walls, the Potomac moaned on one side, and the canal waterfall splashed softly on the other side, a soothing melody as a symphony of frogs and insects joined in Mother Nature's concert.
Stunning.

Great location, easy parking, and plenty of space. Free campsites, although it's first come, first serve. The main downside is the lack of plumbing/bathroom facilities. Porta-potties are available.
